Outpatient Adult Substance Abuse Treatment
In January 2018, we initiated 28-day outpatient substance abuse treatment with a cohort of 80 males. At that time we also had a waiting list of 100 adult males. Both groups agreed to submit urine tests at our site weekly during the 28-day period. By the end of the period, 30 clients (37.5%) had dropped out of treatment. In addition, 50 potential clients (50%) on the waiting list had also dropped out. The data we have are for the clients who were in treatment at the end of the 28 days as well as those who were still on the waiting list at that time.
There are two files below: a data file which shows the results of the urine tests for the two groups. The file is called SAwCompGrp.csv. It has the urine scores, along with the groups that were in (treatment or comparison), their ages, and race/ethnicity. The second file is called "Codes" and tells you what the data numbers represent.
